Kevin Chesney – Chief Executive Officer

 

Kevin Chesney has 17 years of experience as a software engineer, architect, entrepreneur and software industry executive. Most Kevin Chesneyrecently, Kevin was vice president and chief software architect for Dorado Corporation—an enterprise-class on-demand solution provider in the real estate finance industry, originally funded by CrossPoint Ventures. At Dorado, Kevin successfully oversaw the design of all software development within the company, including the company’s flagship solution, which was the basis for GreenPoint Mortgage winning the Wharton Infosys Business Transformation Award in 2003. In this role, Kevin gained a comprehensive purview of Dorado and the real estate finance industry, which allowed him to participate extensively in customer-facing activities including marketing, professional services, and pre-sales.

 

Prior to Dorado, Kevin was co-founder and principal engineer for iLuminate Systems, a software company focused on the development of large-scale, object-oriented, database-intensive commercial Internet applications that brokered services between businesses and consumers.  Prior to iLuminate, Kevin served in senior engineering roles at a number of other companies including Wandel & Goltermann (now JDSU), Network Intelligence, and Hewlett Packard.  At Hewlett Packard, Kevin headed the team of engineers responsible for bringing HP Distributed Smalltalk to market. He also co-authored the CORBA 2.0 IDL Smalltalk Language Mapping specification, presented technical proposals, and represented Hewlett-Packard at Object Management Group (OMG) meetings.

 

Kevin graduated with distinction with an M.S. in Computer Science from California Polytechnic State University and B.A. degrees in Economics and Psychology from Westmont College.

 

 

Richard M. Peters, Jr., MD – Chief Medical Officer

 

Dr. Peters is an Emergency Physician with the Southern California Permanente Medical Rick PetersGroup, a Managing Partner of LJ Partners, LLC a start-up incubator, and Immediate Past Chair of the health care standards organization, ASTM Subcommittee E31 on Healthcare Informatics.  Dr. Peters currently serves on the Board of Directors of the health care start-ups OpenHealthData and MPV.  Dr. Peters is the former President & CEO of PTRx, Inc., a pharmacy benefit management (PBM) company; founder and CEO of Oceania, an electronic health records vendor that was acquired by Cerner; founder and CEO of iTRUST, a physician practice management and electronic heath records vendor that was acquired by MedPlexus; and founder, President, and CTO of the digital rights management start-up ScratchTrack.


Dr. Peters also has extensive experience in health care standards and security and confidentiality, as one of the lead authors of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) E31.20 Continuity of Care Record Standard, a member of the NCPDP WG10 Industry SIG Task Group, former Vice-Chair of ASTM E31, Head of the ASTM E31 Division on Security and Confidentiality, former Chair of the Workgroup on Security and Confidentiality for the American National Standards Institutes Healthcare Informatics Standards Board (ANSI-HISB), former U.S. Subject Area Expert on Security and Confidentiality to the international standards group ISO TC215, and Technical Consultant to the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Center for Health Information Technology (CHiT).

 

Dr. Peters received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and his medical degree and post-graduate training from the University of California, San Diego.

 

 

Jürgen Failenschmid – Vice President, Engineering

 

JJürgen Failenschmidürgen Failenschmid has more than 23 years of software engineering and technical management experience during which he successfully led the building of several major products. During the last fourteen years, he developed and managed distributed object-oriented systems and has seven years of hands-on experience with Internet technologies.

 

Prior to Acesis, Jürgen served in senior architect positions at a number of companies including NthOrbit (now Certus), Tonbu, Wandel & Goltermann (now JDSU), Network Intelligence, and Hewlett Packard. As Chief Architect and Director of Software Engineering at Tonbu he led a large team in the development of the web-centric Tonbu Collaboration Platform. As Chief Architect at Wandel & Goltermann, he defined an architecture for the software division’s new products based on object-oriented, reusable frameworks, combining the strengths of Java, Smalltalk, and CORBA for integrated, distributed, and scalable applications.

 

In his dual role as Chief Architect and Vice President of Engineering at Network Intelligence, Jürgen designed and implemented significant parts of Contour, as well as leading and managing the company’s software development team. Prior to Network Intelligence, Jürgen was with Hewlett-Packard for thirteen years both in Germany and the U.S. in various positions as software developer, consultant, and project manager.  He focused on applications of expert systems, user interface, and object technologies. He was a key contributor of core components of the Distributed Smalltalk product, the first full implementation of OMG’s Common Object Request Broker Architecture.

 

Jürgen holds a Dipl. Inf. degree (equivalent to M.S.) in computer science from the University of Stuttgart.

 

 

Bill Morton – Vice President, Services

 

Bill Morton has more than 20 years of experience in building and managingBill Morton professional services, training and customer support organizations for enterprise software companies including PeopleSoft/Vantive, Informix, Dorado, Nextance and ViewStar.  At each of these companies Bill played an executive role and structured his organizations to deliver customer success and to be scalable in order to support rapid business growth.

 

At Vantive (acquired by PeopleSoft in 2000) Bill built a CRM consulting organization from one person to 350 persons worldwide.  The Vantive consulting organization delivered more than 1500 successful CRM projects over an eight year period and achieved excellent customer satisfaction from hundreds of customer organizations around the world.  At Informix, Bill built the company’s original Consulting, Training, Customer Support and Quality Assurance organizations during the period of Informix’ hyper-growth during the late 1980’s.

 

In building his organizations Bill has always concentrated on recruiting excellent personnel and structuring his organizations so that personnel can experience excellent career growth.  Consequently Bill’s organizations have always had exceptionally low personnel turnover, and the continuity of personnel has resulted in the building of stable and highly effective customer-facing services organizations. Bill has also focused on information sharing as an important path to achieving high customer satisfaction and organizational scalability.  Documenting processes, publishing effective document templates, and providing mechanisms for knowledge sharing among customers, employees and partners are all important aspects of Bill’s approach toward managing customer-facing services organizations.

 

Bill holds Bachelor and Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering from MIT, and he also holds an MBA from the Harvard School of Business.

 

 

Jason Marsh – Chief Information Architect

 

Jason Marsh has over 15 years of experience as a user interface engineer, informationJason Marsh architect, and software designer. Prior to joining Acesis, Jason served as senior architect at Dorado Corporation where he was a key member of the development team that designed and implemented the company’s flagship solution while working closely with customers. Jason is an expert in browser-based design and development, specifically with rich Internet application technologies.

 

Jason is also an experienced entrepreneur and recently founded a new K-8 charter school, Sierra Montessori Academy, in Grass Valley, California. He wrote the charter document, secured approval from a local school district, secured Planning Commission approval for the site, served on the Council of Directors, and functioned full-time as the school’s Executive Director. He raised over a million dollars in investment money to purchase property for the school. He also motivated parents to submit over 400 applications for their children. The school successfully opened in Fall 2005.

 

Jason's prior experience includes work in the role of technology in educational reform, corporate training CD-ROM development, multimedia creation for corporate marketing, and programming at The 3DO Company and Apple Computer.

 

Jason has a Bachelors of Music from Berklee College of Music in Jazz Violin Performance, and a Masters of Music from San Jose State University in Composition.

 

 

Nathan Krishnan – Senior Prinicpal Scientist


Nathan KrishnanNathan Krishnan has over twenty years of experience in various roles including CTO, Chief Internet Technologist, Practice Manager, Program Manager, Application Software Designer, and ERP Implementer. Nathan's deep technical experience includes design and development of Web applications, Web integration of ERP products, Peoplesoft & J.D. Edwards applications, J2EE & XML applications, and multicast based clustered applications.  His application experience includes contracts management (ECM), financial, manufacturing, payroll, construction management, sales analysis, plant performance and production control, budget and financial planning and foreign exchange accounting. 


Prior to Acesis, Nathan has served several companies in leadership roles.  Most recently, Nathan was the CTO and Co-founder of Nextance.  In this role, Nathan was responsible for the design and development of the J2EE/XML platform used by the Nextance Contracts (ECM) application modules.  As Chief Internet Technologist at DTI, Nathan was responsible for charting out an e-Business strategy for the company. 

 

Nathan completed his MBA at the University of Bombay and BS in Engineering at the University of Pune, in India.
