The Acesis team created a new and powerful Acesis Notes Engine tailored to medical data capture. Looking to other industries, spreadsheets provide financial professionals with ease-of-use and power, and presentation software gives sales professionals the right ‘document metaphor’ to accomplish their communication needs. Appropriately, the Acesis Notes Engine provides the right metaphor for medical documentation.

Acesis Templates differ from systems in the market today that use fixed database screens or snippets of text to track clinical information. Instead, they have been carefully designed with input from practicing physicians to solve the problems of effective and efficient data capture.
Acesis Notes dynamically expand based on prior responses, helping users focus on appropriate lines of inquiry. This is a fundamentally different way of using software: it is more like working with documents than screens. These documents make sense for the task at hand, including focused review templates for surgical gynecologic oncology, reimbursement denial appeals, or utilization management. Documents are not programmed database screens, so that medical staff can easily create or modify templates using Template Authoring .

Data capture is much more efficient when the right questions are available and non-applicable questions don’t clutter the screen. Efficient documents feel easy to use.
Adaptability extends beyond the configured templates. When using typical software, relevant information doesn’t always fit on a typical database screen, and if the fields are not available, users are frustrated by not knowing where to enter relevant information. With Acesis Notes, additional comments or fields can be added in real-time, as appropriate to the user and situation.
Increased efficiency provides more benefits than user satisfaction. The end result is higher quality data capture, and the better the data, the more credible the resulting analysis.

Every clinical, demographic, and performance observation is stored with an underlying term from a medical nomenclature so that it can be recalled for analysis and review.
Multiple nomenclatures are supported, and the terminology can easily and quickly be extended for your local needs and scoring mechanisms.
For clinical observations, Acesis has partnered with Medicomp Systems® to provide the well respected and robust Medcin® medical terminology. This terminology includes more than 250,000 clinical data elements so that virtually every clinical
finding can be encoded.
